The brief
Moorebank Logistics Park is one of Australia’s most significant freight and warehousing developments, part of an intermodal facility running around the clock. Warehouse 5 demanded industrial floor performance to match. Racking loads, forklift traffic and long- term slab durability determine whether a facility of this kind works from day one.
What we did
Azzurri carried the full structural concrete package: supply, pump, place and finish, reinforcement supply and fix, detailed excavation, Bondek to the offices and all associated formwork, with the FRP scope on top.
Somero laser screed technology and ride-on trowel finishing were deployed throughout, with dipstick measurement verifying floor tolerances at every stage of placement. The concrete carried 20kg per cubic metre of 4D steel fibres.
The outcome
Across 48,000 square metres, the floor measured FF 109.9 and FL 112.5. FF is how flat the surface is. FL is how level the whole slab sits, and higher is better on both. The sum of those two numbers had stood at 153 as the world record in this category since 2007. Ours came in at 222.4, taking two world records with it, and a Golden Trowel for high-tolerance flat floors.
